Complete your application for enrollment in the CHEC Independent School.
Follow these steps to withdraw your child from a public school so you can begin providing private education at home through the CHEC Independent School.
Step 1:
After you have completed your application AND submitted payment, you will receive immediate provisional enrollment in the CHEC Independent School.
Step 2:
Contact your previous school to let them know that you are withdrawing and are enrolled in a private school called the CHEC Independent School, and you will send them the necessary confirmation and record request documents from us once you receive them. (They will be included in your enrollment confirmation email once your application has been reviewed.)
If the school needs you to complete their withdrawal form, that is perfectly fine. In filling that out, just make sure that you select that you are transferring to a private school. If you select homeschooling, they will think you need to file a Notice of Intent (NOI), but you should not submit an NOI if you are enrolling with the CHEC Independent School. In selecting “private school,” put the name of the private school you are transferring to as the CHEC Independent School.
Most schools will wait for the enrollment confirmation and record request documents.
However, if they will not allow you to withdraw your students without this documentation, give us a call (Monday–Friday, 10am–5pm at 720-842-4852), and we will expedite your enrollment confirmation.
Step 3:
Start providing private education at home! You may begin counting attendance days under the CHEC Independent School, as of the day of your provisional enrollment. (Attendance forms can be found here.)
For information about our attendance and assessment requirements, record keeping, subjects to be taught, and curriculum, please review our policies page here.
Step 4:
Submit your CHEC Independent School enrollment confirmation and record request documents to your previous public school. You will receive these documents in an email once we have reviewed your application (within 2 weeks of your initial provisional enrollment).
